Challenge
Aroh was charged with creating a wayfinding design for an assisted care and memory care building that reflected the residence’s interior. Maison Senior Living is located in an established area of West Vancouver and was built into the landscape, such that each floor has its own patio. The building design itself is Modern but the interior is Transitional/Traditional. All the wayfinding needed to be reflective of and complementary with the overall decor.
Solution
We worked remotely with the Interior Designer – Thoma Holec Design, based in Phoenix, Arizona – and the building’s management to develop signage that reflected Maison Senior LIving’s interior – and that met the requirements of both the residence and the fire department. We used complementary colour schemes for each of the five floors to help distinguish one from the other yet still blend with the interior design style. We designed, manufactured, and installed the project over three days, including on-site changes to address the requests of the fire department.
